Ivy Senanayake (1911 – 1984)
Ivy Senanayake was the daughter of D. C. Senanayake and Euphamia Dunuwille. She married Dr. Edmund Bulankulama, custodian of the Atamasthana and one of the very first Ceylonese medical practitioners to graduate from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland.
They had seven children, of whom their daughter Visaka (Married Tissa Wijeratne) was a famous artist and social worker, famed for her immaculate reproductions of the 1815 portrait of “Rangamma”, the main consort of Kandy’s last king, Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe.
A deeply spiritual person, she was the Trustee of the Sri Maha Bodhiya in Anuradhapura.
